Player Conditioning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting 2 December, player conditioning will occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15 PM to 5:45 PM. Player Physical Form<\/strong> <\/a>must<\/strong> be completed prior to participating in conditioning,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 October 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a parent\/player meeting, with information on conditioning and tryouts, on 5 November at 4:30 PM <\/strong>at Grassfield High School in the cafeteria.  (Meeting handout<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

28 April 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Student Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Form (PPE)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new law that becomes effective on July 1, 2025<\/strong>, requires students to submit to the school principal or designee a signed Preparticipation Physical Evaluation form completely filled in and properly signed, attesting that the student has received a physical examination, was found to be physically fit for athletic competition no more than 14 calendar months prior to the date on which the health care official signed the  report, and that the student\u2019s parents consent to the student\u2019s participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the law requires new physicals completed July 1, 2025, or later must be completed on the new physical evaluation form.  That form is attached to this communication and can be found on the VHSL website at https:\/\/www.vhsl.org\/forms\/<\/a>. The form can also be downloaded here, click here to download.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: On July 1, 2025, if a student has a physical the health care professional has signed within the last 14 months, does the student-athlete need to get a new physical?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A: On July 1, 2025, a student\u2019s most recent physical is good for 14 months from the date on which it was signed by the health care official on page 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: If the valid physical was given prior to July 1, 2025, and is on the \u201cold\u201d form, does the student-athlete need to get a physical using the new form?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A: No.  The physical completed on the \u201cold form” is valid for 14 months from the date the health care official signed the form was signed on page 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note<\/strong>: If the expiration date on the form falls on a date that does not exist (September 31 or February 29, 30, or 31), the expiration date defaults to the last day of that month (September 30 or February 28).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
